Michaela Frances Neal
‘If you don’t sacrifice for what you want, what you want will be the sacrifice.’
That’s Michaela’s mantra. She’s a creative, driven individual and super organised. Right now she's focussing on her studies to become a physiotherapist.
She's adept at managing complex and varied workloads and staying on top of multiple projects at once. She applies all this professionalism and proactivity to her rehearsals and productions.
A former English Literature student at Southampton University, Michaela’s first love is always the story at the heart of the play. In an ideal world she’d love fancy sets and costumes, but she’ll always prioritise paying actor’s expenses over having a fancy set.
Meet the Fruitcakes
Managing & Artistic Director
'Everything, all the time.'
A founding member of Colour of Fruit Productions, Lauren trained as an actor with Fourth Monkey Theatre Company, but is also a keen producer and director, and occasionally a stage manager...she basically can't pick a thing. Alongside her work for Colour of Fruit, Lauren also occasionally writes things. Selections of her writing can be found in her local theatre reviews for the awesome Alt Reading, or at the infrequently updated but always enthusiastic Point Awesome.
A sleuth at heart, her analytical, logical personality suited her BSc in Forensic Science but she soon after realised that her first love was storytelling and opted instead to pursue a career in the theatre.
Jo is a well-seasoned world traveller with media savvy and a flare for marketing. Her Media Production degree adds a wealth of knowledge and production experience to our team and she's full of fun ideas to brighten up the lives of fruitcakes everywhere.
She currently works in a large arts organisation in the marketing and membership team and uses all the secret squirrels of knowledge she learns there to be part of the Fruitcake team.
